This project started at the NCLR (la Raza) conference. The cheers and jubilation about Judge Sotomayor’s vote from the Judiciary Committee of the Senate were amazing. Everybody was proud to be a Wise Latina. Then the conversation begun when I started asking: What does it mean for you to be a Wise Latina?

Now that Justice Sotomayor has been confirmed and sworn in, the conversation continues with a focus on how to get there. Many of us have had some help along the way to get where we are.

If there is somebody like a teacher, or some organization, or a book, or a service, or a religious leader, or even a municipal service that made your life easier please share it with us so we learn from each other.
